Reactive Activities

Reactive activities can be added to a work order while it is still incomplete, allowing you to capture additional work needed or completed on the work order.

To use reactive activities, you must first enable them on the Client Profile > Work Order Life Cycle Settings page. Then, you must enable reactive activities for specific asset categories on the Admin > Asset Categories page. You can then add reactive activities to work orders for the designated asset categories.

For more on adding a reactive to a work order, see Work Order Summary.

This page shows all the reactive activities created for your organization. For each reactivity activity, you can see the following:

  • Name: Reactive activity name

  • Description: Reactive activity description

  • Type: Either General or Category

    • General indicates the reactive activity can be used on any asset category with reactive activities enabled

    • Category indicates the reactive activity is limited to a specific asset category

  • Active: Indicates the status of the activity, either Active or Inactive; you can add reactive activities to work orders only if they are active

To create a reactive activity, click New. To edit a reactivity, click on the name of a reactive activity in the list.

In both cases, the Reactive Activity Detail page opens, in which you can view/define the following:

  • Name: Reactive activity name

  • Description: Reactive activity description

  • Activity Type: Select Category to limit the reactive activity to a specific asset category, General if it can be used on any asset category for which reactive activities are enabled

  • Asset Category for Group/Split: Select the asset category associated with the activity; for a Category activity type, this determines the asset category the activity is limited to; if the activity splits from a work order (by creating a new work order or linking to an existing work order) the asset category selected here indicates the asset category for the work order you move the activity to

  • Performance Type for Group/Split: If the activity splits from a work order (by creating a new work order or linking to an existing work order) the performance type selected here indicates the performance type for the work order you move the activity to

  • Asset Required: Select Yes if the activity requires an asset, No if not

  • Estimated Time to Complete: Indicates the estimated time to complete the activity

  • Not to Exceed (NTE): The maximum cost of the activity

  • Status: Select Active if the activity can be added to a work order, Inactive if not
